Attending ESA in New Orleans?

Nature Research will be at ESA in New Orleans - with hats!

Aug 02, 2018

We will be attending the Ecological Society of America annual meeting in hot and wet New Orleans next week.

I will be there representing our growing number of online communities, and will be joined by Simon Harold from Nature Ecology & Evolution, and Jung-Eun Lee from our new Nature Research journal Communications Biology

We will be attending talks and mingling throughout the meeting, and would love to meet up with some of our community contributors and members. Let us know if you are attending by commenting below, or emailing

We will be at the Springer Nature booth on Monday afternoon with free Nature Ecology & Evolution hats (you know you want one!), so please come and say hello and tell us what you think of our community site - or indeed anything else.

We hope to see you there!

The Nature Ecology & Evolution hat is kindly modelled by Luíseach Nic Eoin.

I am Head of Communities & Engagement at Springer Nature with a role to provide training, guidance and support on our online communities. I worked at BioMed Central for 5 years, where I launched and developed new open access journals, including Microbiome, Zoological Letters and Cancer & Metabolism. Before that, I spent 8 years in research with a PhD in influenza virus innate immunity from the University of Reading and Health Protection Agency and then as a postdoc at Imperial College London researching smallpox vaccines, viral ion channels and apoptosis. Please get in touch with any training needs, technical questions or general comments!
